Ingredients needed :
- Boiled rice / idli rice - 4 cup
- Urid dhal - 1 1/2 cups
- Methi seeds - 1 1/2 tsp.
- Salt - as reqd.
Method :Wash and soak rice & dhal seperately . soak rice for 6 hours and dhal for 2 hours grind dhal and rice seperately by adding little water into a smooth paste add salt and mix well both rice and dhall batter and allow it to ferment overnight, while preparing idli , no need to stir the batter ,take a ladle and pour the batter on a oil greased iddli plate,in a pressure cooker pour water , and place the idli stand and pressure cook for 10 to 15 mins. Once done, allow it to cool for few seconds, then dip a spoon in water and take idli from the plates and serve with milagai podi or chutney.
While placing idli plates in the pressure cooker arrange the stand in the manner shown in the picture,the idlis in the bottom plate should be straight to the holes of the above plate ,
