Stuffed Potato Gravy

Before starting with the recipe , thought of sharing it again :

Saw this recipe here and made few changes . Loved this recipe a lot.

Ingredients needed :


For Potato Stuffing: 
  • Carrot (small size) - 1
  • Almonds - 6 to 7
  • Raisins - little
  • Mashed potato 
  • Jeera powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Chili powder
  • Salt 
  • Oil



Method for Potato Cups:

                      Take medium sized potato and cut it into half and add little salt and then boil it till done ...don't over cook it . allow it to cool well and then scoop it in  middle and set aside. Make sure u don't break the edges or a hole at the bottom . 


Method for Stuffing Potato cups:

                      In a mixer jar, take almonds and powder it finely. Clean and peel the skin of carrot and grate it finely. Take a kadai add oil + grated carrot and cook it for few mins to that add the scooped potato + almond powder + raisins + jeera powder + turmeric powder +  chili powder + salt and cook it well for few mins and once one allow it to cool well.

Filling and frying potato cups:

                  In each potato cups fill it with the above made stuffing ..heat a paniyaram pan and add little oil in each hole and then place the potato cup (facing the stuffing above) and fry it in medium heat for few mins.


For Gravy Part :

Ingredients needed :

  • Moong dhal
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Dhaniya powder
  • Jeera powder
  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • lemon juice 
  • Coriander leaves


Method for making gravy:

                       Pressure cook Moong dhal and set aside. Finely chop onions and tomatoes. Take a kadai add oil + onion and fry for few mins. then add tomato and allow it to cook till done ..to this add salt + jeera powder + dhaniya powder + chilli powder + lemon juice and cook it well to this add the cooked moong dhal ..once done finally add chopped coriander leaves. Take the gravy in a serving bowl and then place the stuffed fried potato cups and serve it with roti's.

Broccoli Paneer Paratha


Ingredients needed : 

for stuffing :

  • Broccoli - 1
  • Paneer
  • Salt
  • Chilli powder 
  • Jeera powder

For outer covering : 

  • Wheat flour 
  • Water 
  • Salt 
  • Oil



Method : 

For Chapati:

Take a bowl add wheat flour + salt + oil and mix it well and add water little by little knead it well and set aside for 15 to 20 mins.

For stuffing :

Wash and grate Broccoli finely. In a separate bowl grate required amount of Paneer and set aside. 

Heat kadai and add oil + grated broccoli + chilli powder + jeera powder 
and fry for few mins .. 

once done transfer it to a plate and allow it to cool well ...then add the grated paneer and mix it well. 

Now take a small ball size of the chapati dough and make a cup shape with the dough and place a spoon of the stuffing and join all the ends and roll it like chapati ..

repeat the same with rest of dough. Once done , heat a tawa and fry chapati on both sides till done .

Goes excellent with Plain curd and pickle .

Rama Navami recipes



The festival of Ram Navami is the celebration of birthday of the Hindu God, Shri Ram. Rama Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of Hindu month of Chaitra (March - April). This year it is celebrated on 28.03.2015.

In temples they continuosly recite Ramacharitamanas and sing bhajans . In southern part of India , they do celebrate Ramanavami as the Sitarama Kalyanam , the ceremonial wedding of the celestial couples.






The special prasadham made on this day are :

Panakkam , Neer mor (Buttermilk )Kosambari and Coconut - Jaggery mixture.

Coconut and Jaggery Mixture :

Grate fresh coconut and powder jaggery finely. In a bowl add the grated coconut and powdered jaggery  + elachi powder and mix it well.
