Potato Pops

Here comes another yummy output of my samayal adventure. This was too gud that it made hubby dear ask for more. Checkout the recipe below for this yummy sidedish...It goes excellent with rice.

  • Potato - 3 large (peeled and cut)
  • Poppy seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Peanuts - 10
  • Oil
  • water
  • Salt
  • Pepper - 1 tsp
  • cumin pdr - 1 tsp
  • Amchur Pdr - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander leaves


Dry roast poppy seeds and peanuts separately. First grind poppy seeds with green chilies adding lil water. After it becomes like a paste add roasted peanuts with it and grind once more. Make sure you don't grind the peanuts too pasty. It should be a lil crunchy.

In a pan, add oil and heat it. In the heated oil, add peeled, cut potatoes, peas(opt) and fry till it becomes golden brown. Sprinkle some salt and pepper when frying. Then add the already grounded paste to the potato fry. Saute till the raw smell leaves from the grounded paste. Add cumin pdr and amchur pdr. Continue to saute on medium flame. Adjust the salt and sprinkle some coriander leaves. Since I did not have coriander leaves, I substituted it with some parsley leaves and it tasted good too.
