Black Channa - 1 cup soaked overnight and pressure cooked
Onion - 1 chopped
Tomato - 2 chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp ( optional)
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Dhaniya powder - 1 tbsp
Jeera powder - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coconut - few pieces
Spices - jeera, fennel seeds, cardamom,cinnamon
In a kadai heat oil and fry onion till brown, then add ginger garlic paste( optional) and saute, Add tomatoes and cook till done. Now add the powders( if u have a special kind of powder that they make only to add for curries then add that powder, or u can substitute with these), saute and add a cup of water and allow it cook for 5 minutes. Now grind coconut with jeera and fennel seeds and add to the cooking masala. Finally add the cooked channa and salt. Season it with mustard,urad dhal, curry leaves, cardamom and a piece of cinnamon. Garsnish with cilantro.
